A great uncle, Jacob Owen "Jake" Carter was married to a Maggie LaFever. I have a scan of her obituary and a picture that was identified as Jake Carter's family. I believe she is the daughter of Jeptha. Also, another great uncle Joseph Oscar Carter was married to a Malissa Palmer (I also have obit and picture), listed as Molia in Scotland County 1900 census. Willing to share scans of information.
