    3. Thank you so much. I used that date for my DAR paperwork, but it was challenged by a third party yesterday. The date was in the Ewing family Bible (from the mid-1860's), and Grandma Annie's obituary, but I decided that it's POSSIBLE that the date was wrong. I try to not be one of those family historians who can't be proven wrong! <grin> I have no way of knowing when the date was added to the family Bible, or who wrote the obituary (even though I suspect it was Great-Aunt Martha Ewing Walker from Gorin, in conjunction with Uncle Vernon's first wife, Emalie). I have a microfilmed marriage record, but it only gives the dates for when they applied for the license, and when it was returned. I received my membership card today for the Genealogical Society. I was so very pleased that Mother wanted to do this for me, for I had planned to do it in time. As you may know, I joined the DAR on the John Ewing line. If anyone queries you about any of the following lines, I would be more than happy to work with them, particularly the ones in bold: Allen, Anderson, Bale, Beazley, Billingsley, Bing, Birkhead, Birwell, Black, Bounds, Brown, Budd, Burckett/Birkhead, Carrell, Caswell, Chambers, Church, Clark, Cofer/Coffer, Connor, Coons, Corbin, Courtney, Cox, Crawford, Credle, Cunningham, Day, de Clifford, Dillard, Downing, Durrett, Ehart, Elliott, English, Ewing, Faulkner, Fauntleroy, Favior, Fitzhugh, Fleming, Fretwell, Funkhouser, Gaines, Gannaway, Garner, George, Gunderman, Harden, Harrison, Hilton, Hopwood, Hottel, Huffman, Huntington, Inglis, Johnson, Jones, Kornishe/Cornish, Lambdin, Lasswell, Learmonth, Lewis, Lomax, Lowe, Makemson, Matthewson, McComas, McCrary, Melton, Micklevenny, Milford, Milton, Monroe, Morris, Moxley, Norman, Pattison, Puller, Raine, Reed or Read, Reynolds, Rice, Robinson, Rowe, Russell, Sanford, Saunde! rs, Sheckles/Shekells, Shelton, Simpson, Smith, Spence, Spurgeon, Standifird, Story, Streetings, Stucker, Suggett, Tharpe, Timberlake, Tugh, Wallington, Welch, Whitaker, Wilkinson, Williams, Winsor(?), Wiseman, Woolfolk, Yates. 3. My apologies to the list. One other time, I accidentally sent a message to the entire list, when I intended to only send it to the person who answered the query. I wouldn't have thought it was possible to make that mistake twice. <big grin> Regards, Janet Lee Ewing Deaton Huntsville, AL ----- Original Message ----- From: "Don & Janet Deaton" <djdeaton@mindspring.com> To: <MOSCOTLA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, October 25, 2003 6:54 PM Subject: Re: [MOSCOTLA] William Brown Ewing and Anna Evaline Simpson Marriage Record > Thank you so much.
