I've found another interesting thread that I believe links George Forrester to John Forrester in Barren Co. John's daughter Elizabeth Forrester married James Foster 17 Feb. 1822. When George and Mary Myers were married, James Foster was listed as surety. It would seem natural for a brother-in-law to perform this duty. Thanks for your email and information.
