Iowa. He was a shoemaker and apparently ended up dying in Scotland County between 1874-1880. Rebecca Hertzler ("Hetzler" in 1880 Census) was a housekeeper for a person named "TROTH" after her husbands death. She is in 1880 census in "Union,Scotland,Missouri". Where is UNION? I would like to find his death or grave location. Any ideas? Scott Cisney Perry, Utah
There ia a Union down south on hyw 185 south west of saintlouis but no union in Scotland Co.Mo. Union is in Franklin Co. Mo. You might need to check old maps which they have for Scotland Co to see if there had been a union in that year. Good luck. Scott, Union is one of the townships in Scotland Co. It is on the northern edge of Scotland Co., borders Van Buren Co., IA. You might want to look for Hertzler/Hetzler in Iowa. There are still Hetzlers around Cantril (Van Buren Co., IA). Good luck with your search.
