Was married to Laura Knight from Georgia. They had a son, Samuel R. Lewis, born 2-2-1856 in Adams Co, Il. The only info I have on my great-grandfather was that he was born in Scotland Co, Mo. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Lemuel Lewis, age 33, b. MO, and Laurina, age 21, b. GA, are in the 1850 census in Scotland Co. in Jefferson Twp. There are three children in the household: James, 7, b. IL; George W., 4, b. MO; and Sarah A., 2, b. MO. Did you mean that Lemuel was b. in Scotland Co.? If he was 33, he wouldn't have been born here.
