Thanks Kathy and thanks Gene! Gene, our Pell-Gorin line came out of Fairfax Co VA but some of the Pells went to TN I believe. Sarah Pell was believed to be the daughter of Richard Pell- it's a difficult line that many don't agree on.They were from England originally and one of the Pells was known as the Pig Killer. I know that the Pell's objected to the marriage of their dau to Henry Gorin so they had a "woods marrige" - they basically held the ceremony with minister in the "woods". Henry and his two brothers (John the eldest and Gladin the youngest) came to KY before statehood (1792) with John and Henry Gorin being Rev War soldiers. After living in the Lexington KY area (Fayette Co), they came to Barren Co (where I live). Our line (Henry Gorin) moved to Warren Co, then to Christian Co and died in Todd Co KY. Henry's son, John Darns Gorin had a son, Dr Bartley William Gorin who moved from Christian Co to Decatur, IL and then to Louisiana Mo. John Darns Gorin (love that middle name!) had another son, Henry Madison Gorin who then split out to Memphis, MO - they had transactions back and forth between Decatur IL and Memphis MO for yrs. My daus are descended from Dr Bartley W Gorin and later spread to Chicago IL, Spfld IL and all points beyond. I will look at my Pell documention over the weekend - I have a Pell book which I'll check. If I can find anything, I'll post it for you. Sandi Col. Hello, Are you related to the James Walter Drake born 13 Nov 1857, died 13 Sep 1936, Scotland, MO who married Lucy Ellen Hanks born 3 Dec 1859 and died 19 Nov 1901 in Scotland, MO? Lucy Hanks sister, Mary Jane, is my direct line and I am always interested in the other family members. Mary Jane Hanks married Sylvanus Cobb Fulk in Memphis. These two are my grandfather's parents.
