It is in the Adair County Historical Society Library in Kirksville. The book covers from the earliest time of the Native Americans to the earliest settlement of Scotland County touching on all towns but focusing on the Lawn Ridge community. Ellen Kirkpatrick Davison was born and grew up there. Her hard-backed book of over 200 pages has many true stories and over five-hundred illustrations, including photos, portraits, maps, drawings and other one-of-a-kind documents. It is fully indexed. The author has since died but her husband still has copies available. Contact Walter Davison, 868 College Park Drive, Kirksville, MO 63501-1869. I am unsure of the price. ============================== To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237
The Lawn Ridge community in Scotland Co. is an area north of Memphis, in East Union Twp., in and around the Lawn Ridge Church and cemetery. There was also a Lawn Ridge store just north of the church but the building has been gone for several years now. Ellen Davison's book focuses on Lawn Ridge but it also includes a lot of other information on the county and area. It is a wonderful book.
