Hello, I have an Alice Leslie, b. May 19, 1859 in Scotland County, MO to William and Mary Leslie. She married a Myers, but I'm not sure who, and her death record doesn't say who he was. Does anyone on this list know about this lady; and/or could someone do a marriage record lookup? Many thanks to anyone who can help, A. Utick

I read your profile and see that you have and are doing research on many different families. It will be interesting finding what we both know and what only one of us has found. Since we seem to be the only two pursuing the Zerah Dean branch right now (I am also the rransom who submitted my first post on Rachel Dean and Matthew Scofield) I would like to correspond with you via e-mail. Yes, Zerah and Ada/Addie are my husband's GG-Grandparents through their daughter Leona/Lona Dean. I just found out the other day that Scofield might be/probably is Ada/Addie's maiden name via another recently discovered cousin who is doing research. I kind of stumbled across your post today while trying to find out more about the Scotland Cnty, Mo census record I mentioned in my last post. I wish I could tell you who Ada/Addie's folks were, but I haven't found that out yet. I will most certainly contact you asap when/if I stumble across any leads or certainties. Thanks for the info on Ruth!! Wow, I surely wasn't expecting to learn her maiden name much less her mother's! Women are so hard to trace back. I also determined that Henry and Ruth Dean and their children's families moved from Guernsey County, OH to northern Mo. I figured this out while I was looking for Henry and Ruth's son Zerah C Dean married to Ada (Scofield is her reputed maiden name, supported by your Dean-Scofield marriage!!! thank you so much!! big grin) and ran a search for C Dean since Zerah was coming up with no new info and I couldn't find them in 1860 anywhere. I found a C Deen, wife Adry, and a child Hannah F. Wilcox in Johnson, Scotland County, Mo in 1860. Some info to help you -- I found widowed Ruth Dean living with her son Henry and his family in 1880 census Rush, Rooks County, Kansas. Do you know Ruth's maiden name? I am definitely researching this family, and would love to discuss with you further. Thanks! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Rochon (and I may have misspelled her name) came to her grandmother's funeral a number of years ago and was met by family who let her know that they were happy to make her acquaintance. Rochon did not know all of us, her mother and father were not together at the time of her birth, I believe. Her sword/paternal grandmother was my dear late sword aunt Leola Marie Bruner Lewis-Aldridge-Comstock (1910-2001), late of Downing, Schuyler Co., MO. We are having our annual Bruner Reunion on Sunday, 24th June, and we would love to have Rochon notified. Thank you for reading. Thank you so much for the probate records that helped me sort out the two marriages of Charles Davis. For those interested parties who have been following this, Charles Davis had two wives. The firt was Elizabeth Carter, who is indeed the wife who is buried next to him in the family cemetery. His second "wife" was Elizabeth Emeline Wright Alfrey Davis. I have wife in quotes above because I cannot locate a marriage record, and Charles Davis' first wife was still alive at the time of their marriage in 1856 until his death in 1864. Emeline and Charles had two daughters, Rhoda and Hannah, born in 1858 and 1859. Provisions for the support of these two minor daughters is located in the probate records of Charles Davis. Emeline is also in the record several times. Much thanks to you for providing these documents. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The marriage of Malinda Sayre and Jonathan Thatcher was recorded in Scotland Co., MO, 31 Jan 1847. Married on same date, Lucinda Sayers and Mathew Crutcher. There is more info on the Van Buren Co. IA GenWeb page about them, under Cretcher. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, June 04, 2007 8:56 AM Subject: Re: [MOSCOTLA] SAYRE or SAYRES family in Scotland Co. 1820 topresent. > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: MQPeterson > Surnames: SAYER, SAYERS, THATCHER > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.scotland/1203.1.1/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > Thank you. > I have found no record in Iowa either. > Martin > > Important Note: > The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
