Kim, I have been in touch with both Rebecca and Dwayne, Dwayne has given me the most help in sending information. The information that I am wanting now though seem no one has and it has to do with Palmer's. What I keep getting is who branches off with Palmer's. I am really interested in George Palmer and his family and maybe tracking down family members if there are any. I have a lot of questions as to what become of? Frederick's siblings. Last year I found family members of Zilpha Cureton's, joined their web site and went to a family reunion with them. One of them is two month's younger than myself, stayed in their home and had a wonderful time. ?????????????????????????????????? Thanks for responding!!!? These two researchers posted George W. Palmer's parents as Gibson & Rebecca (Darnielle) Palmer. I was able to find them in similar areas this family lived (in census) and their son George was the correct age. But Gibson was listed born Ohio & Rebecca in Kentucky. That differs from what George provided for all census except 1920, but we know that can sometimes be wrong. I found Frederick newly married in 1900 census (see below) with wife Zilpha. She married Mathew Mauck 15 Feb 1874 in Kahoka, Clark Co., MO. She gave birth to a daughter, Grace Reynolds Mauck, 27 Jan 1875. This is the last time I can find a record of her. In the 1880 Federal Census for Sweet Home TWP, Clark Co., MO. Grace, age 5, is living with her grandparents, David & Amelia Mauck. Her father, Mathew, shows up in later years, but not her mother, Ada. I think she either died in childbirth or there after since I can't find a record of her after 1875. I can't find a death record, obituary or cemetery record. I'm at my wits end. I think she was born about 1848 and I think in Missouri. I don't know who her parents were or where they came from. On 14 Nov 1879, Clark Co., MO., Mathew Mauck married Alvira Cade. So this tells me Ada Alice died before this date. I really need your help out there. Thanks for at least reading this. Leslie Kohler raises the interesting question, "Which of your ancestors would you most like to have as a Thanksgiving guest?" My people immigrated 1830s to 1860s. I am pretty well up on my ancestors and have visited many of my cousins in Europe. BUT... My great-great-grandma, Theresia Steiger, was born about Sep 1806 in Baden. The next thing I know of her is that she had her kids in Pittsburgh, Pa., in the 1830s. Then she shows up in Franklin County, Mo., in the 1850s. I'd like to ask her where she was from in Baden, about her wedding date and place, her emigration and immigration, and two of her four kids that, according to family lore, died in Pittsburgh. Another would be my wife's grandfather, John Edward Bokel. HE WAS OUR GUEST. But I failed to ask him the right questions. Hello Folks, Just getting around to another Buford Website up-date. Hope this finds you all well and looking forward to Thanksgiving. I am - it's my favorite holiday when family and friends get together and exchange all that has happened to us in the past year. The weather forecast for next Thursday is snow - now, it just doesn't get any better than that. The Grandsons will have a ball.... Drop by and take a look at my new up-date... www.bufordfamilies.com My very best wishes to you all, Fern K. Buford Walker
