I seem to have found 14-year-old John (pb OH) with his probable parents Robert (age 64, born MD) and Elizabeth (age 52, born OH) and two sisters in Farmington Twp, Van Buren County, Iowa, in the 1860 U S CENSUS. The post office is Bonaparte, Iowa. It fits if John grew to marry at age 18 in 1864. Do you have John's age noted when he and Elizabeth Henderson married? This could well be a match and helpful to your further research. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have copied a couple of pages of the 1850 U S Federal Census for Ralls and Macon counties in Missouri. The former is the county south of Hannibal, Marion County, and the latter is southeast of Scotland County or contiguous and south of Kirksville, Adair County. Maybe your John Kerby hailed from one of these. I could share these pages if you subscribe to ancestry.com, mail these 1850 census pages to you directly, or share information from them here in rootsweb.com if you think they could be your line. Hello folks, Spring at last - for most of us - some of my friends are still battling flood waters. May God help them.... I just finished another Buford Website up-date and want to invite you all to come by and take a look. I reconstructed another Buford line that encompass eight states - from Florida to Kansas and Texas. Over 40 pages in my Microsoft Word. It is a monster and took me a long time in researching. I want to thank all of you who gave me a helping hand along the way - you know who you are.... Hope you all had a Great Winter and are now starting to enjoy Spring. We here in Colorado have sure had our share of the soft White stuff. Snow fall this year is over 200% of the norm. Our rivers will be crowding their banks soon. Take care everyone. Fern K.
