Susannah Poe Maize, wife of Wm. H. was a daughter of Jeremiah Poe. She and Wm. H. came to Davis Co., Ia. in 1841 or so and then came into Schuyler Co. about 1850's. Thanks. Not sure if he is the father of both Urban D. Poe and Isaac Taylor Poe of Scotland County, MO - but they are both born in Virginia, also. They both married sisters of my grandfather. (Fulk/Faulk were their last names) Believe the Poes were in Iowa before Missouri. Henderson died in Iowa but was buried in the Hitt Cemetery. Dear List Member, This is the year our country will do a census of all the people living in your household. This is very important for you to fill out and mail back to our government. So please do not forget to fill out your census form and return it. However, before you return it make a copy of it and place it in your genealogy files. I made a copy of my 2000 census before returning it to the government. Your future generation genealogists will be thrilled to find in your files your 2010 census. Remember this census we will fill out this year will not be available for 72 years to the future generations for research. I only wish I had thought of this before 2000 and that I had a copy of all the census records I sent back. Please encourage all your family members to do the same. Regards, Virginia L. Aldridge

I am now working through ancestry. com to add to this. I have recently been looking at the 1910, 1920, and 1930 Federal census records, as well as some Kansas census records which have Mark's and my direct connection through Daniel Brookhart m (1) Mary Martha Montgomery and (2) Sarah Elizabeth Parker Chenoweth; son of Daniel and Sarah is Homer Ulysses Brookhart m. I've "rescued" a group of three photographs which I believe may all be related to the ABERNATHY Family. The first is a photograph of George & Rose ABERNATHY which was taken at the T. A. Dunlap Studio in Bloomfield, Iowa. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's with the couple in their 20's at the time it was taken. In addition to their names, someone has also written "Parents of Alios Ab" and "Former Neighbors of Edwin & Grace Cessel at Stiles". The second photograph is of an unidentified girl, likely in her teens. The photograph was taken at the same T. A. Dunlap Studio in Bloomfield, likely in the 1880's. The third photograph is of two unidentified young girls, taken at the Reeves Bros. Studio in Bloomfield, likely sometime in the 1890's. The girls appear to be about 6-8 years old at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding this family: George William ABERNATHY b. 18 Feb 1863 in Adair Co. MO to parents David Henry ABERNATHY (b. 1842 in Davis Co. IA) and Lucinda COTTRELL (b. 1845 in MO). George had two siblings, Josephine, and Isaac ABERNATHY, both born in Adair Co. MO between 1864 and 1865. George married Rosa Anne GLASGOW (b. 6 Sept 1867) on 21 Nov 1889 in Van Buren Co. IA. George died 4 Feb 1926. Census records provide the following information: 1900 census of Roscoe Township, IA: George W. ABERNATHY, age 37, born Feb 1863, married 12 years, born MO, parents born IA/MO, a Farmer Rosana ABERNATHY, wife, age 32, born Sept 1867, married 12 years, 5 children/2 living, born IA, parents born OH Velma M. Hello, I would appreciate an obituary lookup for Iona Bell Stine Martens. Her date of death is 11 March 1951. She spent most of her life in the Memphis area. Thanks, Carl Adcock Marblehead, Ohio
