Have been scouring the net to determine which Scotland Co universities may have had a medical doctoral program between 1895 and 1900. My gr grandfather "Dr. James Austin GORDON, M.D." (1874 - 1940) was a "dental surgeon" and I believe he earned his doctorate in Scotland Co. during that 5-year period because he was born and married near Memphis. If anybody may have any thought on universities offering such programs and how to check school records, I would be much obliged. Tei A. Gordon

I have 21 Dec. 1805. I have not been able to trace his parents either. I found in a Gedcom that his father was George Wise but can find no proof as of yet. Do you know where he and his wife Eunice were married? Also interested in the parentage of Eunice. Again a Gedcom says Wm. Goddard II. What do you have? As all of the rest of us, I know how important you consider documentation to be. Can you help me?

If there is a Latter Day Saints, Family History Center near you, they for a small fee, get you a copy that you can use, or there are several sources, on line. My subscription has expired, or I: would look it up for You. I had Ancestry it was time consuming, but with new indexing it might be easier. I plan to get again in a few months. ----- Original Message ----- From: <kgoranflo@worldnet.att.net> To: <MOSCOTLA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, December 31, 2002 12:07 AM Subject: [MOSCOTLA] 1860 census > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Swank, Gray, Reed, Marlow, McCullum, Miller > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RMB.2ACE/500 > > Message Board Post: > > Does anyone know where I can purchase an 1860 Scotland Co. census, or is there someone who has one who would be willing to look for some families for me. > > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > >

I recently received some paperwork for my g-grandfather when he applied for a Civil War Pension. On it was the name Austin Eggleston. This would be his own signature because the document was notarized. If the person researching this name would like, I can give more if that is included on the documents. Maybe this will help to locate where he lived in Scotland County. -- David Shelton Ancestory website http://www.interl.net/~davestoy/des/aqwx.htm Researching the surnames of: BILLS CLARK CLINE FRUIT/FRUITT/PRUITT HOBSON RUSSELL SHELTON SMITH WILLIAMSON GOLLIHER Have information for: ALBRECHT/ALBRIGHT DEAN/DEEN FAUST/FOUST ROCKHOLD TENNEY/TINNEY UNDERWOOD
