Well, I'm back and it was a successful trip. The people were wonderful. The ladies at the library and the genealogical society were most helpful and went out of their way to make sure I could find things. The genealogical society is a treasure trove of older materials. Unfortunately there are few indexes so I could only skim the surface but did find a few gems. The same is true for the ladies at the courthouse, both deeds and wills. I was allowed to poke around and read all I wanted, though the judge seemed at little surprised when he came in and found me sitting at his desk! ;-} It seems to me the real treasure trove at the library is the microfilms of the old newspapers. They were quite chatty back in the late 1800's and early 1900's. I read microfilm for about 7 hours one day and another 3 the next and still only scratched the surface. Found the cemeteries I was looking for without any problems. Between my county map and the directions provided by people on this list, all were easy to locate though my driving may have looked a little erratic at times. Managed to visit Indian Creek, Concord, South Bethel, and Edinburgh and the one just north of Gorin whose name escapes me at the moment. My thanks to all in the county and on this list for making my trip so enjoyable and successful. Ellen (that lady from Michigan)
