    2. For those of you interested in Miami Township....I am in the process of creating a website featuring the daily diaries of my grandfather, Wilbert S. Myers, native of Miami, MO. The diaries are from 1888 to 1905 and, to date, I have posted the diaries through 1897. Some surnames featured in these writings are: TAYLOR, WHEELER, BURNS, EDMONDS, CASEBOLT, VAUGHAN, HAWKINS, CARPENTER, MERTENS, MILLER, JETER, DUNLAP, VANICE, GREENABAUM, HUYETT, LEMMONS, HAMNER, HAYNIE, LEFTWICH................some HISLE, ANDREWS, HIGHTOWER, GRADY, SAUFLEY, WOODS, KILE, KITE, SNELLING, SCOTT, COLTRANE, LATIMER, BELL and many more...(apologies to those not mentioned). The site is not indexed (as yet). Please let me know if the photos do not appear, etc. This is my first attempt at a webpage. Here is the URL: _http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~meredythspages_ (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~meredythspages) Sincerely, Meredyth L. Devin

    3. Good luck Meredyth, I'm looking forward to reading the diaries. My grandmother, Margaret Viola Erwin Dilley, was born and raised in Miami Township. I'm sure that my 84 year old mom will be interested to hear about the diaries. She married F.O. (Franklin Oswald) Dilley who was born and raised around Fish Creek near Gilliam, Saline Co. I think that by the time your grandfather's diaries start my great grandfather Erwin was already dead, but I'm not sure. I recently found my great grandmother, Josephine Harris Erwin, living in Miami Township on Miami Bottom Road in the 1910 U.S. Census with three of her six surviving children: James R(obert) Erwin, Victorine S. Erwin, and Lillie Erwin. There were three other children living: my grandmother who was married and living in Carroll Co., Lena Erwin, and John Berry Erwin who lived outside of St. Louis.
