From the Bible of Vivian Allen Thomas Slater Paper, Dec. 30 1957 Mrs. Susan Nock, 86 Died Friday Morning Mrs. Susan Striker Nock, 86, died Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Firzgibbon hospital. Mrs Nock suffered a severe heart attack Thursday at her home in Marshall and was taken to the hospital Friday morning at 6:30 a. m. where she passed away a few hours later. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock in the Campbell-Lewis fureral chapel and burial was in the Ridge Park cemetery in Marshall. The deceased was born in Marshall, August 21, 1871, the daughter of Henrietta Stern Striker and I.O. Strker. She was united in marriage to W.T. Nock in Marshall on December 31, 1897, and came to Slater as a bride to make her home, where her husband owned and operated a clothing store for men for many years. Mr. Nick preceded her in death, but she continued to make her residence in Slater until about eight ago, when she went to Marshall to live with her brother and sister at 549 East Eastwood. She is survived by a sister, Miss Lennie Striker of the home, and three brothers, Ben Striker of the home, Carl Striker of Kansas City, and Walter Striker of Wast St. Louis, Ill. Besides her family, she leaves a wide circle of friends both in Slater and Marshall to mourn her death.
