Meredyth, You did a WONDERFUL job with your web page. I've enjoyed reading the diary and picking up more clues of my Edmonds families and the "secrets" of young love. Good luck Meredyth, I'm looking forward to reading the diaries. My grandmother, Margaret Viola Erwin Dilley, was born and raised in Miami Township. I'm sure that my 84 year old mom will be interested to hear about the diaries. She married F.O. (Franklin Oswald) Dilley who was born and raised around Fish Creek near Gilliam, Saline Co. I think that by the time your grandfather's diaries start my great grandfather Erwin was already dead, but I'm not sure. I recently found my great grandmother, Josephine Harris Erwin, living in Miami Township on Miami Bottom Road in the 1910 U.S. Census with three of her six surviving children: James R(obert) Erwin, Victorine S. Erwin, and Lillie Erwin. There were three other children living: my grandmother who was married and living in Carroll Co., Lena Erwin, and John Berry Erwin who lived outside of St. Louis. Thanks for the response. Yeah, here is a map of the town back in 1971 or around there: http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=39.14028&lon=-92.94306&datum=NAD27&s=50&size=l I don't see any schools. Of course, the Saline City School I speak of is reportedly torn down. I messed up, let me try again. Your Moses, I think is the son of mine which would make my Jenna Foley a sister to yours.
No, but is the son of my Moses and the daughter of my ancestor-Jenna Foley. I also had a Metcalf that was marrried to an Elgin. I am not sure whether it was my direct or one of his sons. Will look it up when I get home from my trip. It sounds like we may be cousins. -- Sharron **Faith is the animating power of religious life.**
Sorry about the church picture - It some how got lost in transmitting. I will work on the problem and get back with it!
Hi, I need to write down who I'm researching in what county, when it's a new area that I've just discovered. Couldn't for the life of me remember who was in this county when the first call for surnames went out. But I've found them now. Researching the family of Samuel and Catherine (Briggs) Bruner, who appeared in the Saline Co. 1880 census. Samuel was born 20 June 1808 in Hampshire, VA, and died 25 June 1886 in Saline Co. Children listed in the 1880 census include: J.N. Bruner (male) age 28; O.L. Bruner (male) age 21, and E.L. Bruner (male) age 18. Further research has determined that their names were Jasper Newton, Orange Lemon (someone had a sense of humor), and Elmer Elsworth. Other children who were married and/or living elsewhere at this time include Eliza Ann, Emeline J., John S., and Linnie Marinda. Alice Allen
Thank you. I'll start watching them around the time of his birthday to see if there is anything published. ----- Original Message ----- From: <DLuetjen@aol.com> To: <MOSALINE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, June 06, 2004 7:52 PM Subject: Re: [MOSALINE] Sweet Springs/Marshall newspapers > Try these two sites, they will most likely carry it in the newspaper after > his birthday. _www.sedaliademocrat.com_ (http://www.sedaliademocrat.com) and > _http://www.marshallnews.com/_ (http://www.marshallnews.com/) > > > ==== MOSALINE Mailing List ==== > If you wish to unsubscribe from the MOSALINE list, send only the word > UNSUBSCRIBE to MOSALINE-l-request@rootsweb.com or if you are on the Digest > List to MOSALINE-d-request@rootsweb.com > > ============================== > Gain access to over two billion names including the new Immigration > Collection with an Ancestry.com free trial. Try these two sites, they will most likely carry it in the newspaper after his birthday. _www.sedaliademocrat.com_ (http://www.sedaliademocrat.com) and _http://www.marshallnews.com/_ (http://www.marshallnews.com/)
If you go to www.sedaliademocrat.com, there is a good chance that it will be in the newspaper after his birthday.
The husband of one of my grandmother's cousins, Charley Roscher is turning 100 on July 22nd. He lives in Sweet Springs. Would someone on the list watch the local newspapers for any articles about this milestone, cut them out and send them to me? I would love to include them in our Baldus family history! Many thanks.
