    3. Good Morning, Some time ago, I took pictures at the Grand Pass Methodist Church Cemetery in Grand Pass, Saline County, Missouri. 1. Mo Birth Dates
    2. I received the following email from the MO-GEN mailing list. This is good news! ========================= Subject: birth an death records on line from 1910 (when they began) to 1954. The state of Missouri is in the process of putting all birth an death records on line from 1910 (when they began) to 1954. This will be a really great asset for genealogists. If you are interested in helping, check out the site below and read item number 4. The state is scanning the death records, but they need help with typing up the index to those records so they can set up an online searchable index. Copies of pages of the index will be sent to volunteers to type up. http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/birthdeath/deathFAQ.asp Cathy CWarbritton@cs.com List Adm. Pettis County

    1. Oyster Suppers
    2. Hello.....I am in contact with a college professor who has taken an interest in "Oyster Suppers" as a part of 19th century society, Church fund-raisers, and the like. He found many instances of these "Suppers" in the diaries of Wilbert S. Myers, Miami, MO, 1887-1905, that I have been putting online (_http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~meredythspages_ (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~meredythspages) ). Anyway...I offered to ask our Saline County group if anyone had knowledge, or memories, or articles depicting this type of supper. If this rings a bell with anyone, would you please e-mail me? Sorry this turned into an advertisement for my webpage, but I felt I needed to show my connection to Saline County, MO. Sincerely, Meredyth (Myers) Devin

    1. JOHNSON Family Photograph Album
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph album belonging to Euphemia JOHNSON of Williston, ND which includes more than 50 family photographs belonging to the JOHNSON, FERGUSON, RUYLE, SUMMERS, SAILER, BARNETT, and WALKER Families in Williams County, ND; Greene County, IL; and Jasper County, MO; in addition to many other surnames and locations. A list of all the photographs included in the album is as follows: Photograph Album belonging to: Euphemia JOHNSON 605 5th Avenue W, Williston, ND (Based on limited research I do find Euphemia A. JOHNSON with her family in Greene, IL during the 1880 census, her parents are John R. age 37 & Mary J. JOHNSON age 39 both born in IL, John R. to parents born in KY and TN respectively and Mary J. to parents both born in PA. Living with them at the time are 5 children, Mary J. age 13, Euphemia A. age 10, William E. age 7, James L.S. age 5, and Albert age 1. A 28 year old Martha E. JOHNSON is also living with the family and based on her parents birth I believe she is a sister to John R. JOHNSON rather than a daughter as the census report references.) · Edward Anderson FERGUSON, pictured on the Wrightsville Mail Wagon, early 1900’s, 4 yrs · Hallie Beatrice FERGUSON, born Aug 6, 1904, almost one year · Charley RUYLE, taken at the Wyllie Studio in Los Angeles, CA, 1880’s or 1890’s, in his 20’s, 2 ghosted faces imposed on photo · Unidentified Family, no loc., parents with 5 children 3 boys, 2 girls, 1870’s, parents 30’s or 40’s, children 4-10 years · Unidentified Couple, taken at the H.W. Hiram was born in TN and all the others in IL.) · George WALKER, O. A. Morrow Studio at White Hall, IL, 1880’s, 20’s, noted as “Teacher” (This could be George Lewis WALKER b. 14 Dec 1858 at Greenfield, IL to parents John Alexander WALKER and Sarah Elizabeth ALDERSON, he died in 1944) · Nellie JOHNSON, E. 1. FOLKERTH - BAYLEY
    2. Paul R Dafft
    3. Re my previous postings. Rosa Lee Folkerth, born 1874 in MO, only surviving child of Harvey Folkerth & wife Elizabeth Harris Folkerth, was found in 1920 and 1930 Census of Dallas County, Texas, where she was a seamstress for a private family. She died in Dallas on 22 January 1958 and was shipped back to South Fork Cemetery near Gilliam, Saline County, for burial. This would indicate she had some living relatives still in or around Saline County in 1958. Any information on this family appreciated. Paul R. 1. Huston/Elsner connection
    2. I am researching the HUSTON/ELSNER connection to my HUSTON family. My Ggrandmother Birdie G. HUSTON's sister Addy married an ELSNER. Daughter Birdie Elsner and Son Huston Elsner and I believe there was also an Edwin? not sure if he was an ELSNER. Birdie Elsner married a Rojer Q. Jones and lived in Sweet Springs. Roger was a Pharmacist and Mayor of Sweet Springs as well as organist for the church. Any info on this line would be a great help. I do have some pictures of Birdie, Huston and Edwin as children I would love to share. Thank you. Regards, BobbiK in AZ

    1. Smiths?
    2. Bernie Moore-Knowles
    3. Aloha I have been researching my mother's Smiths for years - attempting to find the family of her ggrandfather's. His name was Thomas J. Smith and was born April 1866 in Missouri. Mother and her family were from the areas of Baxter and Izard Cos. in Arkansas. Just last night I was sent a lead on a Smith family that was from Blackwater, Saline Co., Missouri. The head of this 1880 census household is a Malinda Smith, widow. Children named Oliver, Thomas, Mary and Lewis. Have not seen the transcription myself - so, there may be other children in the household. The child named Thomas was born in 1866 and interesting to me is the other son named Lewis. My Thomas Smith named one of his sons Lewis. Is there anyone on this list that might know anything about the Malinda Smith family. I will locate and post the census record for this family in a later email.............but, am sure hoping that there are family members or reseachers on this list that might have some information. Crossing my fingers and thanks so much for your time. Bernie Moore-Knowles Papa'aloa, Hawai'i "Swaying palms in paradise........"
