Naomi and Jean, there were a TON of Morton's from Blount County, TN who were descendants of William MORTON and his wife, Margaret Pharr (Farr). If you can find a copy of THE LOOKOUT MT MORTONs by Donna Morton Morgan (I think that's her name), you will find a lot of information about this line. Since they were in Blount County, I would think they might belong to this family. William was the son of Samuel MORTON and Ann HOLTON WALLACE (a widow) and was born in NC and lived in Buncombe County, NC. After the death of Samuel (he's buried in Cabarrus County, I believe), the family moved to Blount County. Much has been written about this one line and although I believe in my heart that one of the other brothers of William is my ggg-grandfather, I sure can't prove it. Good luck and Happy Hunting. Nina MORTON T.
