When looking at early 1786 census index I found Meshach MORTON in Caswell Co.NC Glouscester Dist. on page #004. Also nearby were Anthorite MARTIN on page #001, James MARTIN pg #005, Richard MARTIN pg #005 and Robert MARTIN pg #001. Because I have always heard that the MORTON people came to the USA with the Rev. William MARTIN I would like to determine if this is my MARSHALL MORTON. Does anyone out there have access to the 1786 North Carolina Census & what information does it give? Hope someone will be able to help me. Thanks in advance for any and all help. Patricia Camp-Mullis
