Hello Peggy, My line of Mortons involves a Marshall Morton who married a Winnie Eubin ? He may have come from NC or SC, our great, great grandfather Allen Morton (a son of Marshall Morton Sr. son Marshall Morton Jr.) was b. in 1816 in Pendleton District of SC. they later immigrated to Ala. and then to Texas. Sorry, when I come across ALA/TX Mortons, I just know that our family didn't go there until, if at all, years later. When I arrived at the death of William Ragland Morton of Russelville, KY in 1841, Jan 30th, then I know that our paternal line died out and the maternal line picked up with the marriage of Sarah Morton to Gabriel Lewis Postlethwaite in Lexington, KY. I have come to the conclusion for my own sanity, that I just have to limit the plethora of information to just what I need to say to my family,"Here it is! If you want more, you must dig it out." It has to do with a singleness of purpose. The closer I get to the "light at the end of the tunnel", that singleness of purpose is even more evident. I must leave it to the rest of the Morton family to research what they need. Does that philosophy sound sensible? When I complete what I need then perhaps I will return to the wider family!
