    3. Farrar, I am also searching for my MORTON family (without much luck). Some time ago I found a very helpful guy named Vern. He is also looking for Mortons. I remember him telling me one of his Mortons was named Joel. You might want to contact him on the off chance there could be a connection. His e-mail address was LVHOPKINS @aol.com. I wish you lots of luck. Ms. Cecil V. 3. Hello, I am very interested in the Samuel Morton and William Morton you mentioned. I feel sure my Rev. Samuel Parsons Morton fits in with this family some where. He was born 1807 in NC and died June 18, 1887 and is buried in Red Hill Cemetery, Stanley, Co. NC. He was in Anson Co. in 1850 and 1860. He was a minister and a school teacher. He was a minister at Rocky River Baptist Church and at Red Hill Baptist Church. I need to find who his parents were. Billie Egleston, bilriteg@ipa.net

    2. Naomi and Jean, there were a TON of Morton's from Blount County, TN who were descendants of William MORTON and his wife, Margaret Pharr (Farr). If you can find a copy of THE LOOKOUT MT MORTONs by Donna Morton Morgan (I think that's her name), you will find a lot of information about this line. Since they were in Blount County, I would think they might belong to this family. William was the son of Samuel MORTON and Ann HOLTON WALLACE (a widow) and was born in NC and lived in Buncombe County, NC. After the death of Samuel (he's buried in Cabarrus County, I believe), the family moved to Blount County. Much has been written about this one line and although I believe in my heart that one of the other brothers of William is my ggg-grandfather, I sure can't prove it. Good luck and Happy Hunting. 2. Hi, Jean. All my MORTON's come from TN (Union, Anderson, Knox Counties) and I'm really interested in your James David MORTON. In the 1830 Anderson County census there is a family of James MORTONs living nearby my gg-grandfather, David MORTON. Also nearby is a Tilda MORTON who I cannot place anywhere. Because your MORTON has both the names James and David, I'm so excited. Been trying to find out about this family forever. Send me a private email at kat3946429@aol.com and I'll share what info I have. Maybe we can tie this all together. Nina Morton T.
