Daniel Morse, son of Samuel Morse of Dedham, married Lydia Fisher. Morse genealogy gives her parents Anthony and Mary Fisher who were around 50 years old when she was born, and he gives no source. Who were actually her parents, and how do we know that? Where do the Fisher christening dates and so forth that I have been tripping over come from? Why do we think Mary was Mary Fiske? I can find them attributed only to LDS, which has the Morse lines screwed up like nothing I've ever seen! Like, noone married fewer than three different members of the Morse family, and noone married a Morse fewer than three times - only good luck often figuring out who that was. One intrepid individual at Rootsweb had her born to Anthony's and Mary's son Anthony, and while that makes more sense, he gave no clue where he got it.
