I have such a connection! I am related to Charles Morse, son of Benjamin Beadle Morse and Mary "Polly" Thornton, who married Sally Strang. To add to the confusion, Charles's daughter, Edna Eliza Morse died at an early age leaving her two sons to two different members of her family. My ancestor, Charles Arthur "Bridgen" was raised by William Bridgen and Marilla Morse, but, was actually the son of George Rose and Edna Eliza Morse. I do not know why Benjamin Morse changed his name from Beadle nor do I know why Charles Bridgen did not keep the name Rose (except that he was adopted at a young age, so, I could understand that change).
I don't think this is the same Charles Morse. My charles married Esther Ruth LANE. Too bad!!
