    3. Hi Debbie...glad to have another helpful site for Morse researchers.. Can you give us an update as to any connections between the "southern" branches of the Morse/Moss lines and the "northern" branches ? I am more familiar with the northern lines as my line is from Anthony so I have the Morse Society book with the "Samuel, Anthony, William and Joseph Morse and John Moss" lines listed. Unfortunately, I'm no help at all for anyone researching the southern lines so it's good to know there is help there for those folks in that area. Kay http://www2.suite224.net/~atgoose/

    3. Kay: I have been told by the Morse Society line shepherds that Anthony and William Morse are related, according to paper trails and y-DNA. Surprising us all, the y-DNA represented in MORSE/MOSS Subgroup #1 shown at the http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Morse-2/ website matches the y-DNA of William and Anthony MORSE of the well-researched Massachusetts and New Hampshire lines. I happen to descend from the Ebenezer MORSE represented in Subgroup #1, so that means you and I, Kay, are somehow related if you descend from Anthony. Because they match we now know that there is a link between William and Anthony Morse of New England and Ebenezer Morse who was born about 1736, probably in Virginia or Maryland. The Morse Society and the MORSE-2 group are working together to find the link between the northern New England MORSE lines and the southern MORSE lines. It could be in America or it could be in the British Isles. Our group has been collecting pre-1820 southern MORSE information since the 1970s. The major focus of this information is primarly pre-1820 within the states of: Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky. Some names are shown on our free website at http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Morse-2/. Be sure to click on the y-Results tab to see the chart that shows the earliest-proven ancestor for each of our y-DNA test participants. In our files we have more information about some early MORSE/MOSS lines that are not shown on the website. Space on the chart does not allow us to list every name associated with the y-DNA markers. Thank you for adding our link to the Morse Rootsweb mail tag.
