Joyce, by any chance is there a Moses CLEVELAND in your book? It's thought that he was an apprentive of Edward WINN, whose daughter he later married. (Cleveland is my maiden name, and I have my direct line to him through his son Edward, who married Deliverance Palmer, d/o Benjamin and Unkn. spouse PALMER and g'daughter of Hon, Walter PALMER & his wife, Rebecca SHORT.) And although the Cleveland family can be traced to the Battle of Hastings in 1066, and before that, but there were so many of them, that's it's impossible to get them completely sorted out. (That's more or less the gist of part of the two volume THE GENEALOGY OF THE CLEVELAND AND CLEAVELAND FAMILIES, by Edmund James and Horace Gillette Cleveland, pub in 1899. If you have a chance, I'd really appreciate your taking a quick look for Moses...by now, they may have unearthed more info about him since those books were published over a hundred years ago. If you don't have the time or the chance, please don't worry about it!! Thanks... Barbara in MO (but originally from NYC)

That's as far back as I've gotten, but have more info on Morse Society webpage under Samuel Morse line. Found Sarah Stratham and my suspected half brother, Randall Morse. Suspect Randall is in prison and Sarah spent some time there for fraud. If you put both their names in google, you'll come up with the story. Guess there's a black sheep in every family. But thanks to this website, we found my half brother.

Still seeking Mary Ann Morse born approximately 1795-1801 possibly in Wrentham, Mass. She married William Chandler Force in l822 and sometime after 1827 moved to Providence or N. The couple had three known children: William Horatio Tower Force b. 1823 Oliver Stratton Force (Vose) b. 1824 Mary Fisher Force b. 1827 -- all in Wrentham, Mass. The father, William Chandler Force, died Nov. 2, 1862. His second wife was Betsy Cody whom he married May 26, 1845 in Providence. Seem unable to make any headway on Mary Ann Morse, but keep hoping!
