    1. Francis, Harvey & Henry Morse/Morris
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Hensley Simington Finley Baldwin Brown McCall Creutz Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/UN2.2ACIB/1137 Message Board Post: I am looking for any info before 1860 on my Morse/Morris/Moss ancestors. I’d like to find the parents of these three siblings: Francis Priscilla b. 1839 Indiana used the surname Morris. Her brothers Henry C. Morse b. 1845 Indiana & Harvey H. Morse b. 1843 Indiana used the surname Morse. My Francis married John Simington around 1853, unknown where. In 1860 her two brothers are living with her. Their surname is Moore but I believe it is in error and should be Morse or Morris. 1860 Ziff Twp., Wayne Co., Illinois Simington, J. (1835) 25 M Farmer OH Frances P. (1839) 21 F IN Geo A. W. (1854) 6 M IL E.J. (1857) 3 F IL Moore, Harvey H.(1843) 17 M IN Moore, Henry (1845) 15 M IN Family stories say Frances’ maiden name was Moss but she named one of her sons Texas Morris & several of her children gave their mother’s maiden name as Morris on death records. Henry & Harvey were both in the Civil War and their surname on all records was Morse. Henry died at Cairo, Illinois in 1864. Harvey lived out his life in Kankakee, Illinois after the Civil War. In the 1880 census Francis gives her parents birthplace as Vermont, Harvey says Indiana. I’m betting on Vermont as women usually get the info right. I have been unable to find this family in the 1850 US Census. Because all three siblings were born between 1839-1845 in Indianna. They should be in the 1840 Census in Indiana but I have been unable to narrow that down either. Any help will be appreciated. Francis Priscilla is my brick wall & the one ancestor that I have always been fascinated with. I would love to find her parents. Cindy Alvarez
