    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Morse Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/UN2.2ACIB/1183 Message Board Post: I am looking for a George C Morse married to a Ellen F. Moran on 17 November 1866 in Boston, MA. They had three sons - George Baptiste, born 1867 in Cambridge, John Washington, born 1870 in Cambridge and James Henry, born bet 1865 and 1868. James is a question. In 1870 Census, he appears with George and Ellen but with the name of James Edison or Ellison, age 5. In 1880 he appears as James Morse, age 15. 1n 1900, he is living with his mother Ellen Morse, but James born May 1868 is married to a Rose Costello and has several children. The name for James and is family is Edison. Of the birth records found for the children, the name is Edison. In 1910, everyone in the family is Morse. James' marriage record shows his name as James Henry Morse with his father as George Edison and Ellen Moran. Is he a Morse or an Edison? Was he born before Ellen's marriage to George Morse? Thank for any help in solving this mystery.

    3. Still seeking above person who married a William Chandler Force (b.l793 Pomfret) in 1822 in Pomfret. It is believed the family lived in Wrentham, Mass. certainly between 1823-1827, moving to Providence or N . Providence, R.I. sometime between l827-before May 29, 1830, the date Mary died in R.I. Their three children were: William Horatio Tower Force b. Jan,2, l823, Wrentham Oliver Stratton Force b. Oct. l9, 1824, Wrentham Mary Fisher Force b. Oct.l0, 1827, Wrentham Is it possible the middle names of above children were related to their extended familes? Tower/Stratton/Fisher As th e mother died at a young age, it is possible the family were placed with relatives or friends in Providence under a different name. (possibly Vose). Oliver above went to Wayne, Kennebec C., Maine when a young adult and appears in the l850 census with his wife Hannah A. Berry, and two children, then appears in the l860 Iowa census. William Chandler Force died Nov. 3, 1862 after a second marriage on May 26, 1845 to a Betsy Cady (Cody?) in Providence, R.I. Vol.I. Marriages. This has been a six year search so appreciate any additional information from possible descendents. Thank you! Frances (fvinport@charter.net)

Any cost discussion should be kept as private messages [you can find this information on the DNA website] however, ANY OTHER DISCUSSION OF THE PROJECTS ARE WELCOME. Yes, there are TWO Morse Y-DNA projects in the works.. [Analysis of markers on the Y chromosomes of men (passed from father to son)] You can find out about these projects and how you can participate in either of these by going to each of the url's posted below. If anyone has questions on either of these projects I am sure someone will have an ans. for you or will try to find an ans.. http://morsesociety.org/?dnatest.htm Morse Society represents the Northern New England Morse study=male with the surname Morse, Morss, Moss, or Mors, or have a brother, uncle, or other relative who is, we invite you to line up the men for this simple test. http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Morse%2D2/ WE ARE COLLECTING DATA ON ALL EARLY SOUTHERN (including Maryland) MORSE / MOSS LINES.==The purpose of this study is to use DNA analysis of the Y-chromosome to determine the descendants of the Morse/Moss families who entered Maryland, Virginia and the Carolinas in the 1600s and 1700s. One of these lines connects to the William and Anthony Morse lines of Massachusetts. We want to discover the relationships among the groups of their descendants scattered over Virginia, the Carolinas, Georgia and other southeastern states. It is hoped that these projects will have many participating.
