    1. Fw: Morse Family in Vermont
    2. K.Cutshall
    3. Fw. for non subscriber Subject: Re: VT Morse Family Good morning, Here's what I've been able to find so far. Louis L.(Lincoln) Morse was born 28 Jul 1909 to Lincoln W. Morse and Louise P. (unknown last name at this point). Their only child that I can see. Lincoln W. Morse was born Apr 1883 in Randolph, Orange County, Vermont. and died after 1930 in Northfield, Washington County, VT. His wife Louise P. was born about 1881 in Vermont, and died after 1930. The 1930 census is the last that I can track them. Lincoln W. Morse was the son of Alex Lewis Morse, born Oct 1831 in Massachusettes, died between 1910-1920 in Randolph, Orange, Vt. His wife was Olive A. ? born Mar 1847 in Vermont, died 1900-1910 in Randolph. He shows up in the 1900 and 1910 census with them. Their children were: Cleora O. b. Dec 1869 in Randolph Charles C. b. Jun 1880 in Randolph (Married Mary ?, had no children) Lincoln W. b. Apr 1883 Alex Lewis Morse was the son of Lewis C. Morse, born 1803 in New York and Mary N. ? b. 1811 in NY. They both died 1850-1860 in Southbridge, Worcester, MA which is probably where Lincoln W. Morse was born. They had two sons: (shows up in the 1850 census with them) Alex (also known as Alexis) born Oct 1831 in Southbridge Lincoln, born 1836 in Southbridge (Don't know what happened to Lincoln Morse - May want to check Civil War records) That's as far as I've been able to track them so far. Should have more later! Do any of these names sound familiar? Not certain where Lewis C. Morse is from, but am working on that.

    1. John Morse of Woodhouse(Canada) and a Benjamin Morse with wife Maria ?, William Morse and Mary Eddy
    2. Winifred K Miller
    3. In 1834 there is a probate of John Morse. He was a United Empire Loyalist, had land in Gosfield, Newark, District of Niagara and land in the County of Richfield, Ohio. The latter land was left by the last will of Benjamin Morse after the death of his wife Maria ? From the will Andrew Steinoff was a husband of Ann, John's daughter. I believe the Benjamin Morse was the brother of my Israel Morse (children of William Morse and Mary Eddy from Swansea, MA). Benjamin's certified birth 20 Nov. 1768 from Swansea. Preserved and Israel also have a certified birth date. Does any person know the last name of the Maria? John could be one of Benjamin's son as William Morse and Mary Eddy did not have a John according to my records. A Benjamin also was the signer of Mary Eddy Morse's application for a pension from William Morse applied for in Bedford, NY. To my knowledge this William is not on the DAR List. However I have a copy of the application from another source Heritage Quest) showing W17153. Supposedly my William Morse is buried in Pittstown, NY 12 Feb. 1800 and Mary Eddy Morse 1 July 1843, age 95, in St Lawrence County, NY. Any information on this family would be appreciated.
