    1. Re: [MORSE] Cost of hard back Morse Book
    2. In a message dated 9/10/2006 7:28:45 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, winnie.miller@att.net writes: Saw the costs of mugs etc. What is the cost of the hard back Morse Book and has any person used it and found it informative? Interested in the Morse Family in Swansea, MA and Ontario. If it is the standard Morse book, I have had it for about 30 years and it was very helpful to me but one has to go through it both via an 'index' and page by page, but each key immigrant is delineated in separate sections. That is great. Don Beattie in Winthrop, ME.

    3. The switch to the MAILMAN has been made. The MORSE list is now on lists2. The general information page has not yet been changed with the new information and still shows lists8. When all of the lists migrate then all of the gen. info. pages should show the correct informtion for each list. Morse@rootsweb.com is now the mail address , the L is no longer required, AOL members, remember this for your accept list .. If you are NOT on AOL and get the digest mode and would like to change back to the MIME way of getting the digest I can change that for you. Although all of the links and bridges are not quite connected for things to run smoothly yet, the Board is still "gatewayed" to the list and replying to the board messages is the same as it has been.....click on the URL included in the message-ie:- "This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL******* If anyone has any problems or questions resulting from the change, feel free to contact me. Morse-admin@rootsweb.com

I am of Morse lineage but from Newbury, Essex, MA and then Bridgewater, MA and Bridgewater, ME. Purportedly my Morses 'settled' Washington State from Bridgewater, MA about the same time they came to Maine in the mid 19th Century. Do you have any verification of that fact and/or who the 'settlers' were from MA? Thanks. Donald W. Beattie in Winthrop, ME.

    1. Admin. note....list OR digest mode coming in the future
    2. Cutshall
    3. On the (soon to be no more) old software the L and D lists are treated as two different lists, under the new Mailman the list is one big whole, and L and D are merely modes within the ONE list. Since Mailman doesn't allow people to sub multiple times with the same address you can't sub the same address to both the L and D modes as it is considered a duplicate. Therefore, with the migration to the new software, if you are now subbed to the list in both list and digest mode you will automatically be removed from one of them. If you have a preference as to which one you really wish to receive then you should probably unsubscribe from the other one before the migration takes place. [Or have a second email account for the second mode.] MORSE-admin@rootsweb.com
