Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/UN2.2ACIB/1245.1 Message Board Post: Rhonda, Sorry that I do not know your Squire Morse, but I would like to know more about him. I have looked a lot for Morse families in AL and found none. My gggmother's name was Diana Morse b/abt/1826-28 in AL. Her parents may be William and Elizabeth Morse(found on Blount Co. census, but Diana is already out of the home). She married Asa Allen 1844 Marshall Co. AL. There is mention on her siblings being Wilbur, Ben, and Anne. The family in Blount Co has siblings b/1834 and after---Charles, Bailey, Anna, Isaac, and Henry. Our Diana Morse named 2 of her sons--Charles and Isaac Bailey(my gf). I want to think this is my Morse family. This may be a second marriage for William Morse -b/abt/1783. Asa and Diana Morse Allen settled in Conway, AR 1870. She died abt/1872. Don't know how to figure this one out. Will be happy to talk some more about the Morse' of Alabama. Hope this helps you in some way, Glenda

In the 1850 census for Southport, Chemung, NY a Jerome Morse (11 at the time), that I believe is my Jerome Morse is listed as living with Samuel (b. abt 1782) and Elizabeth Reynolds (b. abt 1781). That census does not list relations, so we are unsure who the Reynold's are, and what relation, if any, they are to Jerome Morse, or how he came to live with them. I would love to find out who Jeromes parents were and his wife's, Sarah E. , maiden name.

Surnames: Morse Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/UN2.2ACIB/1228.4.1 Message Board Post: Kay, Thank you for your posts - census info. I believe I have already gotten all of these, but will double check them all. This is the family that I am researching. My focus at this time however is trying to get back past Jacob - the father of David, Ruth and Abner. The connection when found hopefully will connect into one of the main Morse lines. After getting your posts I went and found a previous one of your's that gave info about the Morse Society. I hope to find time this weekend to review that site and see if I can find anything there - so thank you again. Any ideas on how to connect Jacob would be appreciated. Currently all I have on him is that he was 'of Deerfield' when he purchased property in Gilford in the 1790's; that he died in 1818, his wife's name was Ruth (surname unknown); and then info about his three children - David, Ruth & Abner. So far I haven't found anything in the Deerfield records on microfilm at the state library about him. Thanks again. John
