    3. Hello, my first message on this list. I'm from Melbourne Australia tracing my wife's American ancestors and interested in finding family history for a lady named Martha Ellen Morse. She was born at Appleton on March 1st 1841, she married Henry Webb at Montville on August 21st 1858 and had two children, Clara Ellen and William Riley. Henry died at Rockland, Knox County on August 12th 1863 and later Martha married William J Brown and had another five children. Martha died at Belfast on May 2nd 1906. I'm attempting to find her family background and I picked up an entry in the 1850 US Federal Census for Rockland which seems to indicate her father was Adam Morse, the mother's name I cannot decipher. Can anyone help me identify the branch of the Morse family Martha Ellen comes from. From way over here there certainly seems to be a lot of Morse families and not being too familiar with the various branches of the family I thought there may well be a few 'experts' on this list who can help me. Best wishes from an Aussie flounderer ! James Twycross.

    3. Judy: Thank you very much for the reply. You certainly filled in a lot of holes for me and got me going in the right direction. I look forward to reading up on the family. Polly was the first extended family I started to research. Polly's daughter Sarah born in Sutton 1798 (Siley/Sila) married Charles Carroll (The first, my grandson is #7) in Croydon, NH 15 Jan 1817 and died and is buried there July 1881. She and Charles has 12 children. Again, thank you, Charlie
