I do know for sure they were French Canadian but his parents were English. Both birth parents were professors, one music and the other science, and were friends of the Morrows in Quebec. My Grandfathers birth mother died during childbirth, most likely from Porphyria as my grandfather died from it in 1969. It's very rare and genetic. They had eight children who were adopted out, two of them twins. Thanks for the lead on Moreau, I hadn't thought of that.
