    2. Wes Patterson
    3. My name is Wes Patterson, and I'm new to this list. For the last decade (plus) I have been researching the Pattersons and Blacks of Buncombe Co NC and surrounding areas. In the last year or two, my research has taken me more into the Morrow family. There were several Morrow families in western NC in the late 1790's and early 1800's, but I haven't been able to tie them all together appropriately, as far as their relationships to each other, and where they came from prior to moving to western NC. One such person was Richard Morrow. In 1800, and the following several years, Richard Morrow acquired hundreds of acres in land grants in Buncombe Co NC. Some of them are listed on my web site at http://wespatterson.com/patt/buncombe.html Other Morrows in that area were Robert Morrow, John M. Morrow, Joseph Maxwell Morrow, James Morrow, David Morrow, and others. We are beginning to think that there was a connection between these Morrows and an Alexander Morrow who was born ca. 1750. Apparently Alexander was the father of the Robert listed above, but how was everyone else tied to them? There was also a Sarah Marr/Morrow who married a James Patterson in Buncombe in 1810. Richard Morrow sold 100 acres of land to my gggg-gf, John Patterson, on 8/02/1802. I am finding more and more links between these Pattersons, and Blacks, and Morrows (aka Marr). These Blacks and Pattersons came from Pendleton District, SC in the 1790's, and prior to that were in York Co, SC. I would certainly appreciate any help identifying these Morrows of Buncombe, and what happened to them. Thanks. 2. Vince King
    3. Hi Wes, My name is Vince King and I also descend from a few of the Buncombe Co. NC Morrows. The William Morrow (b. before 1755) who is listed on page 180 of the 1800 Census had sons John Morrow (b. ca 1775) and David Morrow (b. ca 1779). William and John migrated out of Buncombe Co. into Tennessee ca 1807-1809. David Morrow stayed in Buncombe a while longer then followed "dad" into Warren Co. TN (ca 1818). David is found on page 145 of the 1810 Buncombe Census. These three individuals all had land on and near Hooper's Creek which is a tributary of Cane Creek. It is near and just west of current day Fletcher, NC. Current day Henderson Co. All of the land deeds for these people discuss "bounding" each others property and they were selling adjacent tracts to one another. I would suggest that (as I did) obtaining copies of all the deed records for these Morrows, reading and understanding where they specifically lived in respect to one another can be a key to sorting them out. You will be amazed at what can show up being discussed in a land transaction. Many of the other Buncombe Co. Morrows are potentially kin. 3. Wes, I am trying to locate info on a James Madison Morrow. He married Frances Hester in 1833 in Macon Co., NC (or that is when the marriage bond is for). By the 1840's they were in the Howell Co. area of Southern MO. I am unable to give more info as it is on the PC which is having problems and I am on the laptop.
