Hi, My nane is Jane Morrow Ferriell. I am searching for the parents of a James Morrow who married Elizabeth Frame of Agusta Co. abt. 1771. I believe the migration from Pa. south if documented could tie the different Morrows togeather. We have been looking for any real evidence as to James parents and siblings. There is alot of incorrect data about the 2 James Morrows in Ky. in 1776-1800. Please share anything you might have! Thanks, Jane
Wish I could help, but Morrows are hard to trace -- they tended to use the same names over and over. My Samuel Mills Morrow came from Chester Co., SC to Hopkins Co., KY, then IL. I know there were Morrows in Pulaski Co., KY who, I believe might have been originally from the SC branch. Sorry. Robert: Don't know if we've talked before but my Morrows are from Chester S.C. as well. Family names are Wylie, Marlin and Adams. Janean: Here's what little I have: William Morrow of Chester Co. died in 1825 and named the following descendants on his will: 1. Jane Morrow, w. of James Robinson "eldest daughter." 2. Mary Morrow w. of Alexander Parkinson and their eldest daughter Jennet Parkinson. 3. Elizabeth Morrow, w. of William Ross and their eldest daughter Susannah Ross. 4. Samuel Mills Morrow "only son." 5. Margaret Morrow "only single daughter." Samuel Mills Morrow married Martha Bishop, d. of James Bishop, and they moved to Hopkins Co., KY about 1810, then to Pope Co. IL before 1816. They had several children and both Samuel and Martha died between 1821 and 1830 in Pope Co., IL. They were my gt. gt. grandparents. Back to William's descendants: Two grand daughters married Wylie men. They were Martha Robinson who married David Wylie and Caroline M. Ross who married William Wylie. Does any of this ring a bell? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Janean Ray" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, December 01, 2003 8:59 AM Subject: Re: [MORROW-L] Re: [Morrows in 1771- Va., Ky., N.C. I show James Morrow b. abt 1729 (siblings births range from 1720's-1740's) married Elizabeth Frame. James died in KY. His parents were David Morrow of Norfolk Va and Hannah Hopkins. I do not have proven sources I can site for you. This is an accumulation of several years of research and piecing together and also early on in my research when I didn't list my sources. I may have something in the file that I haven't put in my database yet but feel strong about my information.
