I don't know if we're related, but I have hopes. My earliest known Morrow ancestor, Charles, arrived in Bucks County, PA, about 1800-4, from Northern Irelend. He served in the US Army during the War of 1812, then moved Belmont County, OH. Charles was married twice, to Rachel Morton, then Susannah Peacock. He had at least 15 children, many of whom settled across the Midwest, including Sauk County, WI (my ancestor); Pike County, IL; Ralls and Caldwell Counties, MO, and Jefferson County, IA. More than 20 of Charles' grandsons or husbands of his granddaughters served in the Union Army during the Civil War (mostly from Ohio). One son, William M. Morrow, is known to me only because he claimed his share of his father's estate in 1870. When or where he was born, where he lived, and if he had a family of his own is entirely unknown to me. Based on the birthdates of his siblings, he could have been born as early as 1804 -- or as late as 1840. I think he was most likely born 1815-1820, but cannot prove that. Another possible son, Nathan Morrow (1804-1874), is shown as a son of Charles and Rachel Morrow in a book titled the Nuzum Family History. He married Elizabeth Leonard. They had three children (Rachel, Fletcher, and William Newton Morrow). The Nuzum book also includes the family of William and Martha (Morrow) Nuzum. Martha (b. about 1818) was definitely a daughter of Charles and Rachel (Morton) Morrow. Rachel (Morton) Morrow had two brothers: Courtland Morton and Gershom Morton. Several male descendants were named Courtland, Gershom, or Morton. I am interested in any family connections, but especially in finding the right William M. Morrow and the ancestry of Nathan Morrow.
