I can't access the 1850 census. No Silas Morrow in the 1870 census anywhere. He might have been single and was missed. Couldn't locate him in the 1880 census, either. I suggest you go to a local genealogical library and hopefully they have a book on 1850 VA index by surname, look up all Morrow (and variations) families for a son Silas age 6 or 7. The index books usually show county and page, then you go to the census rolls of VA, check out each county and look up the families. Slow go but it might work. You might take a chance on Virginia Civil War records to find Silas. Write or email the National archives for a request form for a search of confederate soldiers in Virginia, his name might be enough. This would give you the county he was from. Some help. Good luck and good hunting. Bill Morrow of Oklahoma Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
