    3. Amelia, I was rereading the census data and I am gathering that there was two JOHN MORROWS in 1830? I have them (John mine) cleared for being in IOWA later. I am wondering if we find Matthew's death date or will or probate if he went home for that. Or a death for Mary Lockhart MORROW? pre 1820, when JOhn m Patience. I can not find a tombstone or burial for him in Henry Co IA yet. I am going to dig deeper on this. I have no idea whom else may be related since I have spent time trying to locate data on JOHN and siblings? I will have to track sideways again, as always it seems and see if a male lineage exists even. Would be awesome to locate a link after all these years. 3. Susi, Not to knock Bill's search of the data I've posted, but note that if the 1849 death on the John m. Mary Lockhart record is correct, he's probably not yours unless he returned from Iowa to Kentucky to die. Your Patience as a widow in 1850 had had a child three years earlier in Iowa: 1850 Henry Co, IA: Patience Morrow 50 GA, Grinsel H. 20 KY, Harriet L. 18, Tillman P. 16, Polly E. 13 TN, Louisa 3 IA (Marion, p. 223, 9/13/1850) Their sons William and Tillman, as you've probably found, can be found in the 1860 Henry Co, IA census. But the Wayne County connection does suggest a tie to the same line, and thus DNA testing might help, since other Wayne County Morrows have been tested already Amelia On Mar 21, 2008, at 12:00 AM, morrow-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > Message: 1 > Date: Thu, 20 Mar 2008 05:30:57 -0700 (PDT) > From: William Morrow <billmorrow1938@sbcglobal.net> > Subject: Re: [MORROW] John Morrow Wayne Co. 3. HI, Okay I concur with this confusion. I somehow suspect first wife died since he is a bit older than Patience. The family has links to Lockharts in t the files. Someone married one and lived in KY I remember reading obit at Aunts . Death of this man is same in both places so wonder if notified KY of death and did not really die there. I am going to see if he is buried in Iowa, Henry Co.. I have tracked them pretty well leaving KY to IA. Definitely uncanny to have this unless he had two wives un beknown to each other. Wonder what happening in the MORROW family for maybe him to go back to KY for event. NO IDEA big quiz. Thanks for response. I suspected related to Matthew since he was on census near him. The names listed on this census form are the following: William, Margaret (wife, Margaret Leddon), Margaret (daughter, "Aunt Maggie"), William (son, "Uncle Will"), Charles (son, "Uncle Charlie", whom I remember meeting), Thomas P R (actually Thomas Peregrine Wroth, apparently enumerators thought WROTH spelled ROTH, I've found the "R" on other census', TPW is my Granddaddy Morrow), Carrie Leyden, sister-in-law to head of household (this would make her Margaret Leddon's sister, enumerators had a lot of trouble with the spelling of LEDDON, eg Ledden, Leddin, etc. LEYDEN is one of several variations I've seen). I've seen and experienced the MORROW name spelled MARROW, MERROW, MURROW, etc. I have a picture of 4 of the children (as mature adults) that William and Margaret had: I believe Aunt Magg! ie, Uncle Will, Uncle Charlie and Aunt Eliza (their youngest daughter Eliza Jane, born Aug 1881). Would you mind giving me a web address for your Genealogy site, I can't seem to figure out how to get to it again. 2. I am just seeing this post, and have several thoughts to share. First of all, I am a Morrow who traces all my line to Butler and Armstrong/Indiana?Co, PA.... and I have participated in the DNA project.. which I am sure will one day answer mysteries of my search that goes back 30+ years... Bills help has been incredible for so many of us in the Morrow line... an we are all grateful... the costs are what they are.. the DNA project is a great idea... Apparently Mr. Howard gambled away the estate that William Henry left Margaret. My grandparents, (TPW Morrow and Frances Yelden King), on the Morrow side of the house did not leave the family with a lot of info. 3. Bill, There are asses and idiots in every family. Bbuckley8 happens to be both. It's easy to be offensive when you are on line and not in person. Don't let him bother you. You are a great asset to all the Morrows and greatly appreciated. Bob in Bama. -----Original Message----- From: morrow-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:morrow-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of gc-gateway@rootsweb.com Sent: Friday, March 14, 2008 7:40 AM To: MORROW-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MORROW] Hamilton Morrow This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: BillMorrow38 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.morrow/1287.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: bbuckley8, I'm Bill Morrow, I recommended that researchers of this line might try DNA testing since they are having problems with their research. DNA testing is a new tool for genealogists, proving biologically who's really kin to whom. And no, DNA testing is not free. Neither is genealogy. I don't get paid anything nor receive anything from the DNA testing. I volunteer my time and work, trying to help any person asking for help. I have helped hundreds of researchers since 1980. I noticed you have two postings on this forum so I see you are a newbee and probably don't know how much DNA testing helps in genealogical research. I really feel offended by your remarks.
