If you know where he died, you can try to find his obit from the local public library etc. as a lot of times when listing the kids it will say So-and-so from Sacremento or whatever.. you know what I mean. I'd shoot for his obit first. You can always try inquiring in the county courthouse for a will or probate or death certificate. If you're a relative you should be able to get something. You can even check court records to see if marjorie remarried or newspapers. I did a quick people search and found a Marjorie J. Morrow 65 years of age - Household: Vernon (not sure what that means) unless she lives with like a daughter and has her own mother in law suite that she'd have her own phone or is listed in the directory at their residence. I was reading the Sherbondy web site at work today (don't tell my boss) and got very excited with what I found. I couldn't wait to get home to write and tell you that I'd found "my Harriett"; and her father, and her mother, and her grandparents, and even her great-grandparents. It was a good day. I wrote to one of the Sherbondy's asking if they had a copy of Harriett and Abraham's marriage certificate; since they were very specific about it having occurred in 1870. I'd like to see if it names Abraham's father and mother. The only male left alive would be my son, but he's not a direct Morrow male, he's 3 maybe 4 generations away; my grandmother's brothers being the last Morrow males. From my grandmother to my son it was all females. Would that matter in a DNA test? Wonder what nationality "Sherbondy" is. Huntington twp, pg 1089, so that is your Harriet age 12 in 1860 = born c1848. The website goes back several generations. You might be right on your hypothesis that Mary Smith was the mother of your Abraham. Be hard to prove except by yDNA testing, and for that you would need a living male Morrow descendant of your Abraham. If you know of such a man, and want to try yDNA testing, let me know. I believe Mary Smith was the unwed mother of Abraham, Sarah and Mary; and I've always believed Abraham (married to Catharine and the large family), might just be my Abraham's father. Strange as it may sound, his kids are roughly the same ages and bear similiar names to Mary Smith's; i.e., Sarah Jane and Mary Jane. It makes sense to me, that Mary would have given her children their father's name as a form of recognition since they could not be legally recognized. I'm traveling to S. Huntingdon in a couple of weeks to do some research at the Historical Society. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I'm trying to take the Morrow's back to when they came across from Ireland; don't know if the records go that far back, but I'm going to keep trying. It's actually been suggested that they, or he, might have been shipped over as a criminal sometime in the 1700's, in which case I'll never find the starting line. The Sherbondy info was awesome. I wasn't sure that was even the correct spelling; all I had to work off of is a scribbled name on my g-grandfather's marriage certificate. Although, I'm fairly certain the 12 year old Harriett in the 1870 census cannot possibly be my Harriett, as she was in her 20's and already married to Abraham by them.
