I have been searching for a Charles Morrow, my 4thggg, who was taken by the British as a POW during the Battle of Long Island during the American Revolution. He died the day he was due to be exchanged and is buried outside of P{ittsburg, PA. Does this by any chance fit in with the Charles you mention? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I should have looked at your DNA study page before I replied. I reviewed your unmatched DNA results, and there "might" be a connection on #96846 BT, or 48161 AP, based on location and date ranges. Not enough documented information on those lines for me to connect my lines, but, I have not traced all the descendants of Samuel Morrow and his brothers. Please don't spend anytime on this. I have posted what I have online. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: Duncan_Morrow Surnames: Morrow, Morton Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.morrow/1712.2.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My immigant ancestor, Charles Morrow, came to America about 1800 from Ireland. His first wife was Rachel Morton of Bucks County, PA. They moved to Belmont County, OH, about 1815-20. Their children generally resettled in the Midwest, including WI, IN, IA, MO. Morton was recurring name (usually middle name) in several families descended from the marriage of Charles Morrow and Rachel Morton. One son, William M. Morrow, claimed a share of his father's estate in 1870, but is otherwise unaccounted for by me. Any help identifying William M. Morrow would be appreciated. Based on ages of his siblings, he could have been born anywhere from 1803 to 1840 -- but most likely about 1818 in either PA or OH. It helps to know what information you have before we tell you stuff you already know. I was under the impression based on what you said or the lack thereof that you didn't know anything and hoping to make contacts. Next time I'll ask before I go on a hunt. LOL, thats ok though. that is what genealogy is all about. Helping and sharing. Janean Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
