I recently came across some old letters that have led me to post again. Am looking for the family of Frances Morrow who married Robert Berry. In 1883, her brother, Robert P. Morrow was living in Gordonville, Texas. From what I can make out from the letter, there was a cousin by the name of Pierce ( maybe Percy?) Morrow. They were also related to a family of the name of Hawkins. What I could make out, there was a G. T. Hawkins, Julia Hawkins and Mary Hawkins. Pierce Morrow's mother had just died. Seems her name was Emma. In the letter was also mentioned an Aunt Matt, Aunt Polly, Aunt Betty and either a Selma or Delmer. I do know that at one point some of these Morrows wound up living in Stonewall County, Texas. Any help would be appreciated. Vickie

He served in the Civil War and enlisted on the 15 Mar 1862 in Company I, 26th Infantry Regiment NC on the same day as a Daniel Morrow and a Nathan Morrow. I am making the assumption that they were related. I found Daniel, Sr's family in the 1850 census in McDowell County with sons listed of Daniel age 21, Jordan or Gordon age 20, and Nathan age 14. The age of Gordon would fit with what I am finding. I am also finding that the younger Daniel died on 30 Mar 1863 in Clinton, TN and that Nathan died of disease on 3 Aug 1862 in Caldwell County, NC. My dilemma is that Gordon's marriage certificate to Mary Jane Kincaid in Caldwell County, NC 1871 indicates that his father's name was Radnor. Could my Gordon be the same Jordan/Gordon belonging to Daniel Morrow and Rachel Roberson?
My line is also Morrow/Welch through Levi Kelley Woodley m. Martha Welch; daughter, Sarah Paralee Woodley m. Saint Francis Morrow. Levi & Martha moved from Tishomingo County, MS. to Izard County, AR. Do any of these names match with yours?

For those of you interested in the Welch Morrow line; my grandmother was Dora Pearl Welch. She had a sister named Ollie Mae Welch who married Emmett Lee Morrow. Their father was Steven "Ed" Welch married (2nd) to Elizabeth Yankey. I know a lot about the Welch's but not much about the Morrows. I know the names of Lee and Ollie's children if anyone is interested.

I would like to straighten out some names and locations. I only have internet information on the Morrows and I have both Norfolk Eng and Norfolk Va. and have children of a Virginia born Morrow being born in Antrim Ireland, so things are all wrong. My Morrow line was married to Marlin but I have no information on her other than a name and cannot yet connect her to the other Morrows but believe she is related to Joseph Morrow husband of Jane Wylie. I have both of their birth years at about 1760.

I just recently began my research and found out the name of George's father. I too haven't found Radnor's wife's name. I would love to find out about the Morrow line, since I now know I am related. Also, Ivey was a male, and all Cecilia's children took the surname Kincaid. Cecilia (and at least 2 of her brothers ) was taken in by Gordon and Mary Jane when her mother died, her father having died when she was 9. I believe she was approx. 17-19 yrs old at the time.

According to my g-g-grandmother Carmie, Samuel came to America from County Tyron, Ireland prior to 1781 and settled in Adams Co, PA, subsequently Westmoreland Co. The 1790 Westmoreland Co, S. Huntington Twp census shows a Samul Morrow, 1m16+, 5m under 16 and 4 females. I have only identified Samuel's son James. Also noted in the same census is: Georg; 1m16+, 0m under 16, 2 females; and Chrles, 1m16+, 1m under 16, 1 female. I suspect Georg and Charles are probably Samuel's brothers, who supposedly fought in the Revolution. Samuel's son, James W., b. 1788 S. Huntington Twp, Westmoreland Co; d. 31 Dec 1842 Barren Run District, S. Huntington Twp; m. 27 Nov 1810 (unk) to Jane Ferguson. Again from the notes of Carmie, ca. 1939 (who was working with Hester Ann Morrow Anderson): James had eleven children; seven sons (two twins) and four daughters. Two children were deceased before James died. James W. Morrow was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Mt. Pleasant. He was buried at the Presbyterian Church Cem., Mt. Pleasant with his wife, and both were later re-interned at the New Cemetery at Mt. Pleasant. James owned land at Barren Run, Westmoreland Co., PA and received some of his early education at the Old Kalkesher School House, at Barren Run (in 1825 known as the Frick School House). Children from family bible. I believe that Barren Run, is located about 1 mi east of Smithton, Westmoreland Co, PA, on Rt. 981, where Barren Run creek intersects the road. I have further information on the family of James Morrow if you are interested. Thanks, Glen
