I also purchased a copy of this book many years ago when the author was still alive... it is loaded with information, unfortunately, I have not been able to tie any of my western PA ancestors to this line..fascinating intro tells how the Morrows, persecuted in Scotland, fled to Holland with their Bible baked inside a loaf of bread, so as not to be taken from them... then went on to Northern Ireland, County Donegal I believe.....merry Christmas and happy "rooting" in the new year... bob morrow jr. -----Original Message----- From: dmorrow [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, December 14, 2003 3:34 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [MORROW-L] Re: Morrows of South Carolina and Alabama This is not my family of Morrows', nevertheless I have a book on them. THE MORROWS AND RELATED FAMILIES. It was written by J. T. Morrow in 1979. Published by Gateway Press. Inc. 111 Water St. Baltimore, MD 21202 He has a History of the family names. The PEDEN family in Scotland and America and the Morrow family in Colonial America. When I bought my book in 1989, it came from his wife, [I believe Doris Morrow]. According to the first paragraph of her letter, She had moved to San Angelo, Texas to be near her children after a stroke and her husband's death. She said that there were several copies in her former home, probably at her home now. I paid $17.95 plus shipping. Her second paragraph states: Mr Morrow was not interested in the money, just recording the family as far as he could at the time. His family were descendants of David Morrow who came here from Scotland via Ireland. There is a large PEDEN family interrelated as well as others. In the index there are more than 2000 Morrows and more than that numbers of others...............her address at that time was 2200 West North Loop #113; Austin, TX 78756. Some of the PEDEN..........Agnes Miller, Alexander, Andrew, Dan, David, Goodgion. Elizabeth, Ann, James, Lila, John, John Thomas, Katherine, Margaret, Jessie, Lizzie, 3 Mary, Rebecca, Samuel, Thomas, and William. I can give you more surnames, if you are interested. I have done this for others also. Mrs Morrow asked that I do not try to sell any of my info [which would not be right anyway.] Hope you can find what you wish for and it just might be a very happy Christmas. At this time we are only testing Y chromosomes which are passed from father to son. If you are female (and most researchers are), you can sponser a brother, father, uncle, cousin, etc.. so long as their surname is Morrow. This would be a great Christmas gift. We are trying to establish various lines of Morrow descent. We need as many Morrow DNA donors as possible. The cost begins at $99 for 12 marker tests, most of us are opting for 25 marker testing at $171. Kits are mailed to your house, you swab inside your cheek, place swab in a vial and mail back to lab. Here's the URL for our lab: www.familytreedna.com go there, look around, if you wish to join or to sponser someone, please email me. ......bill morrow of Oklahoma

Hi, Please share te Bible list of names. I believe there is a close connection with other Morrow groups in Ky. during the 1770-1820, bot I have not found the key. This Bible could be the one. Thanks, Jane
Hi, I did ask about James Morrow who married Elizabeth Frame. I am really intrested in your info on this family connectionbetween the 2 Williams. Do you remember your sourc? James named his oldest son William as is often the case with brothers. This may be the Margaret Morrow recorded as being at Boman Station with a 14 year old William , Possibly the son of James Morrow and Elizabeth Frame. Margaret is listed as not married and William is not with her 1 1/2 years later. Our James lived in Fayette Co. and Clark where he moved and later died. His son William married Nancy Field of Bourbon Co. where James signed the bond for William as Sherriff. By 1798 William and Nancy moved to Bullit Co. Please share what you have , we have been searching this connection for 50 plus years. You may have the key. Thanks, Jane Morrow Ferriell
To whom it may concern I'm releated to the morrow of Pulaski an Wayne Co. Ky. I would like a copy of what you have on the Morrow in Ky. Lulu

We found the following: Morrow Family Files at Frankfort, KY Historical Society. JOHN MORROW FAMILY BIBLE Possession of Mrs Wm. Christman Washington, Pa. There are two pages of births, marriages and deaths of this family. There is nothing saying who submitted the information or what their connection to KY may be. If anyone would like this information, please contact us and we will gladly send to you. I have some of these same names in my line but can find no apparent connection. Our Morrow line is from Wayne Co., Russell Co., Pulaski Co, KY and Clay Co. TN. Also, if anyone knows more about this family, I would like to hear from you. Steve and Nancy Weston [email protected]
