Hello, What a wonderful find!, and a wonderful letter to find!! I can just hear the brougue as he writes! Thanks so much for sharing. Though I do not see any connection, hopefully you will. I have been at this (genealogy) just over a year now, and have found my g-grandfather Robert Wallace to be the proverbial "brick wall", the phrase I have learned to hear about in this research. A cousin (a William) has been searching for Morrow's for at least a decade, but so far has chosen to share only minimally. What I have learned from him is that Robert Wallace had a half-brother, George, a physician, who is buried in Portville, NY, a place where at least one daughter of Robert's married, and I think another is buried, though there is conflicting information on that last. At least one son was married in Olean, NY. This is just sheer speculation on my part, but William is an extrememly common name in the family, and George does not appear again, so George may be the only half-brother or sibling, and in fact Robert may even have been adopted. George's will was supposedly probated (though I do not know where) an! d nothing was learned about Robert. I also assumed that Rachael and Susann are full siblings, only because their married names are known. I am in possession of Robert Wallace's Bible, but there is nothing in there that yields even a hint of a clue to his past. Both Robert Wallace and his wife Sarah Sutton are buried in Tidioute, Warren Co., PA. Another g-granddaughter of Robert's, a second cousin to the two of us, supposedly did enough research to prove herself into both the DAR and Mayflower Societies, but that was through another line (Sutton), the point being that she researched family history and apparently found nothing of Robert either. From what research I have done, I find her name left in local historical societies (letters and other correspondence), and am assuming that she found what I have so far, but since she passed away and left the results of her work to William, I shall probably never know. Lastly, another thing that caught my eye was the reference to a map, and was wondering if you are in possession of that also, and, if so, if that would be something you would be willing to share also. William Morrow may have come from Dublin, Ireland as a prize-fighter to America. He was on the 1850 Polk Co., MO census, farmer, 61, born NC. With him is his wife Ruth, 56, born NC, son Francis M. Morrow 13 born NC and grandson Benjamin F. Kirkpatrick 5 born MO. Apparently William Morrow died in Polk Co. but no death record has been found. There is a probate wherein Robert Smith received $8.00 or his coffin. A paper in the probate signed by William Morrow on Apr 29, 1852 shows that William could sign his name. William R. Devin was administrator of his estate which was filed in 1867. A Mr. Ezekiel Flint is mentioned in the probate several times and he was a neighbor and may have been related. She is shown in the 1860 MO census 66 but it says she was born TN. She has not been found on an 1870 census. Ruth apparently went to TX with some of her children after William died as she was found living in the Taylor Morrow household in 1880 Tarrant Co., TX, her grandson. He was 32 a farmer born MO, father born NC and mother born VA. His wife is Lemember(?) 28 and Rutha Morrow, grandmother, is 88 born NC, parents born NC. Morrow and Moses Carr appear as securities for estates dated Aug 1850 and Mar 1851 in Platte Co., MO. He was living in Platte Co. at the time of his father's probate. His full name may be Andrew Jackson Morrow. His estate in Platte Co. totalled $2760. and administrator was J.H.Nash. A. J. Morrow was found on the 1860 Platte Co., MO Mortality Schedule in Pettis Twp. He was born NC and died at age 43 in Jan of Typhoid Fever. His full name was Andrew J. Morrow. There is an A. J. Morrow, 17, born 1833, living in his own household in the 1850 Platte Co., MO census, relationship unknown but possibly a son. Samuel Mills Morrow lived in Pope County, IL during the period 1816 to early 1820's. He had a son, Thomas, and a Thomas later showed up in CA in the 1850 census. I'm not sure if this was the same Thomas. Would like more information. I do know for sure they were French Canadian but his parents were English. Both birth parents were professors, one music and the other science, and were friends of the Morrows in Quebec. My Grandfathers birth mother died during childbirth, most likely from Porphyria as my grandfather died from it in 1969. It's very rare and genetic. They had eight children who were adopted out, two of them twins. Thanks for the lead on Moreau, I hadn't thought of that.

I have some info that almost matches yours, the Carson Morrow that I speak of was the son of William King Morrow and my grandfather would have been Carson's uncle.....if it is the same person, the sisters were May, Mattie and Kate.....all of the family origianlly came from Texas to N.Mexico then Arizona. I have an article that I got out of the Tucson news paper in 1967 that led me to Carson's son (my mothers first cousin) who proved out to be my relatives that I thought (as did my mother) that we were looking for Thomas Carson. That was an alias, his true name was Thomas Henry Morrow and his father was Samuel Morrow from Indiana then to Texas.If I start tracing again, I will share what I have but I looked for so long trying to find what happened to my grandfather after he deserted his family in Texas I think I got so discouraged. If a person uses one alias, th! en they sure might use a bunch more. It seems that when I read your note I zoomed in on the Carson Morrow name as that is how I found out about the true name being Morrow. W. K. Morrow's son's name Carson was the name my grandfather picked when he went to Oklahoma (near Deer Creek) near El Reno to visit his older brother W.K. after getting out of Texas prison (for horse theft). As far as I know none of my family went to Quebec. I wonder if his adoptive parents were Moreau ? and anglicized the name when they went to the U.S. (just a thought). I wonder if the records of his adoption would still be sealed, or could you learn something by contacting the Province of Quebec? I think there are also message boards for adoptees. I'm presently looking for the Canadian Morrow connection also. My grandfather was Hector Francis Morrow and he came to Michigan from Quebec after being adopted. He had several blood siblings who were also adopted. The only other name I remember is Francis Slater and I'm not quite sure what the relationship was. My mother has said Hector was a Surry before his mom died and Morrow was his adopted name. I can't verify that info though. I would be happy to hear from you if you can fill in the blanks.
