Grandfather's name was John Joseph Morrissey immigrated to the USA in the late 1800's to New York stayed in the New York and New Jersey area's. His father's name was Michael Morrissey grandmother's name was Myriah Honan. John Morrissey had I believe 13 siblings, Michael, Patrick, Jean, Maura, Anna, Margaret, Molly, Anthony, James, I am not sure of the other names. Any information would be greatly appreciated email [email protected] Thanks, Kathleen Hi, I have a Morrissey problem in the Clonmel area, too. My great grandmother was Catherine Morrissey who married Thomas Quirke 6 February 1826, St Nicholas parish church Carrick-on-Suir. She could have been born as late as 1810, but I've found no baptism record that looks reasonable and thus I have been unable to find anything about her ancestors. You don't give any dates for John Joseph except immigration in "late 1800's". Could she have been one of John Joseph's missing siblings? Do you have even an approximate age for him when he immigrated or died? You should be able to find him on passenger lists. I think they are indexed for that general time period. Have you tried? Was he naturalized? That would give you a lot of good information, too. Unfortunately I'm not an expert on US records. But, I'm quite interested in your problem. 3. To Terence and Kathleen, I have Morrissey from Tipperary going back to 1780 to currently in Mayfield, Tipp. I do not have a John Joseph that I know of. Mine migrated to PA in 1840. Those that stayed behind intermarried with Doheny, Doyle, Moloughney, and Hynes. Bill Round Rock, TX [email protected] wrote: In a message dated 04/02/2008 1:02:18 A.M.
