During the month of September, I am offering to pay for a 25 marker DNA test for a Morrissey male who has a documented Morrissey ancestor who is known to be from one of the following areas: 1) Co. Cork 2) Co. Down 3) Co. Clare 4) North Ridding of Co. Tipperary The purpose of this offer is to help those of us who don't know where our family was from to be able to find a match up with someone who does know where their family is from. Those who know where their family is from are less likely to spend the money to have the test done. If you know someone in one of the 5 categories above, please let me know. If the person doesn't one of the "paid" categories, please consider having the done anyway. The more people who join the project, the more likely matches will become. There is a free testing service at www.smgf.org. They will not send you results, but anonymous results will eventually be posted and their website and you can see if you match other Morrisseys.
