Hi All, Just wondering if anyone might have any information to add to what little I already know about my great-grandmother which is as follows: Mary Agnes MORRISSEY b. 15 May 1886 County Tipperary possibly Thurles d. 24 May 1945 Bronx, NY daughter of Thomas MORRISSEY and Johanna LYONS She married Charles Stephen COMPTON in 1907 in NY Thanks for any help. Recently, I've been trying to put together a clear, precise family tree, which has turned out to be one of the hardest things I've ever done in my life. Johnny's parents were Timothy (Christopher, I believe is his middle name) Morrissey (b. between 1795-1815), who was married to Julia (Last name Unknown). They had Johnny, and a number of other children. One of which, although I don't think is well documented is John Andrew Morrissey. John Andrew married Charlotte Powers, and had six children. Their names: Leonard, Lurleene, Brian (Who I believe is dead: b.Dec 2, 1936 d.Nov 4 1996), Terrence (Who I believe is dead, too: b. Feb 19, 1930 d. Apr 5, 1998), William, and John Ambrose Morrissey. John Ambrose Morrissey is my grandfather, born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 3, 1925- and died on April 1, 1985. John Ambrose had eleven children. She was married to James Hiney and they had two children - Lillian (1899) and James (1900). In 1910 she was married to Thomas Scollan (married about 1905), lived in Staten Island and had three additional children. She also had another son in 1911. She died sometime after Sept. 1918. Her husband had remarried since his second wife was listed on the 1920 census. The second wife was the mother of my aunt. It was just a few years ago that we learned about Theresa. Everyone was under the assumption that the second wife Mary was the mother of these six children. It looks that she came in, took over and poor Theresa was forgotten. I would like to find her - I couldn't find a death certificate in New Jersey where they were living but perhaps she died elsewhere. Any information could be helpful. Based on the information in the 1900 census, they were fro! m Elizabeth, New Jersey.
