Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Hi1.2ACEB/305 Message Board Post: My greatgrandmother's sister was ELLEN KENNEDY born about 1845. She married Thomas MORRISSEY on 17 November 1872 at Windgap Catholic Church, Kilkenny. The family lived at Bawnreigh, Tipperary. Thomas was a Constable. Some of the children born to Thomas and Ellen were Lawrence born 1873, Edmund born 1875, Mary Anne born 1876 and Catherine born 1878. I think this family then moved to Co. Wicklow and then to Dublin. Lawrence married at Rathmines, Dublin to Teresa Mulroney. Can anyone please help me with information on this family. Thankyou from Denise, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia

I have ten (10) in my family, all born in Newfoundland. My first William, a Tailor by profession, first showed up in Newfoundland records with his nmarriage record of 1854. He died at the age of 68 which has his birth around 1827 but I have not been able to trace his origin. Jack Connors

The closest I can come to your date is John-Frederick-Wiliam Morrissey who was born in 1865. There were a lot of Morrissey's in Eastern Canada at that time and we trace our roots back to Patrick Morrissey and Mary Fitzgerald. Maybe there's a connection?

I have not be able to find Patrick's father, his mother was Mary McGuire. Norah parents were Thomas Scully and Mary Daily. Patrick and Norah had 4 children born in Ireland, Timothy 1861,Minnie 1863, Thomas 1867, Catherine 1871. The family left Ireland in 1874,and emigrated to New Zealand, where sons Edward 1874 and Michael 1876 were born. Patrick's brother Edmond may have also travelled with them.
