My eldest Morrissey is John born New York c1831, By 1864 he was married to Catherine McNulty, had a daughter and was living in New Orleans. By 1868 he has 3 known children and lives in Maplegrove in Manitowoc county. He dies 14jan1884. Half my road block is that I do not know his siblings or parents - to find him on the census in the early days. I do not know of a connection here Tim - but thank you. And I do know another Morrissey, but do not know if she is subscribed - I'll caontact her if she might have a connection. Does anyone have further info for a JOhn Morrissey in Manitowoc County? I am assisting Mr. Richard MORRISSEY in his research. He is looking for a sources of information or any copies of protraits of Sgt. Job DREW, and Thankful Delano PRINCE (1767, Plymouth, MA). Also, any information on Phillippe de LANNOYE or Madaleine de BOURGOGNES.
Looking for a source for a coat-of-arms granted to William RUSSELL (1613-1700), first Duke of Bedford. RUSSELL is connected to the MORRISSEY family line.
Searching for information about Cornelius MORRISSEY, reportedly named in a War of 1812 Illinois land grant to soldier veterans. This Land Grant reportedly took place in 1812, presumably in Illinois.
Looking for information about details of the marriage of Edward MORRISSEY and Mary AYRES, reportedly on 30 Mar 1754, in City of Waterford, Ireland. The only unconfirmed information so far is Edward MORRISSEY, a sea captain, docked in 1763 at Boston, MA. Edward married his second wife, Mary VEALE, reportedly on 02 Aug 1772. Any information (location, dates, births, deaths) will be appreciated.

Lucille, I'm sorry, I don't have any information on Michael's siblings. The only info I have comes from the marriage of Michael and Mary Hewitt. The marriage took place on 6 October 1850 in St. Michael's RC Church in Limerick City. The witnesses were a William Hewitt - maybe the father or brother of the bride, and a Hannah O'Brien - maybe a relative of the groom, but that's a guess on my part. I also have been unable to trace the family any further. If you get no joy from Maynooth directly (but you'd be surprised at what an 80 cent stamp will produce), try any or all of the following: National Library of Ireland: http://www.nli.ie/fr_cata.htm National Archives of Ireland: www.nationalarchives.ie/ Archives of the Diocese of Dublin: www.dublindiocese.ie What about the easiest: www.Familysearch.org Ireland/schools or similar? Terence
For information about previous students, try the direct approach: Go to www.Maynoothcollege.ie/ or write to Maynooth College Seminary, County Kildare, Ireland. Good luck, Terence
Hi Patricia, Do you have any information re Michael's siblings? The reason I am asking is that my Ancestor James Morrissey's father was Michael and his first child born in Limerick was also Michael. James married Catherine O'Donnell in Limerick RC Church and after Michael was born 1852 the family migrated to Australia 1853. We have been unable to trace this family back any further.
