Enoch Gray Swanner's wife was Maria Catherine Lucas and her grandmother was listed as "Choctaw woman". "Choctaw Woman" was married to James Lucas Sr.. Maria Catherine Lucas' father was James Lucas, Jr. This may help a little with the Choctaw decent! The Swanners were German or Austrian.... not sure which yet! Most of the Swanners came from the North Carolian area. My great great grandfather, Enoch Gray, also had a half brother, Marshall Green Swanner who settled in the Pemiscot Co., MO area.
