L.F. Ross. Lowe was a Lt Col serving as the commander of the 3rd Missouri Regiment. His regiment was a part of Jeff Thompson's command. He was shot in the head and killed instantly at the head of his troops. I have the copies of the letters written concerning his death from a book, title unknown, but the section is titled "Operations in Mo., Ark., Kans., and Ind. Chap X "Ironton and Fredricktown, Mo.
