    1. re: LACKEY
    2. Hello Darin, I took a minute to do some checking for you on your David Thomas Lackey. Not sure if you have census records already. The "History & Families of Ripley Co., MO" pg. 258-259 has a bio on the brother William C.S. Lackey and does state that "Two Lackey brothers settled in the area. David Thomas Lackey and wife Mary Margaret Winston moved to Doniphan from Dexter, MO in the mid-1880's. In 1901 his daughter Alma Marie graduated from high school and entered a convent near St. Louis. Named Sister Mary Pachomia, she taught mathematics. Her home visits were spent with cousin Boyce Lacky after the death of her parents in the 1930's. Second daughter Lucille went to St. Louis where she married and lived." The rest of the bio is on William C.S. Lackey family. Submitted by Susie Lackey Givens and Sally Lackey Hedges. Maybe you know them? 1900 Census - Ripley Co., MO - Doniphan - Dist. 97 164-170- LACKEY, David July 1849 age 50 m.23yrs b. IL fb AL mb AL occupation: Carpenter LACKEY, Mary M. LACKEY, bro of W.C.S.LACKEY, died in St. Louis Thursday 5 Mar at age 64. Born Jackson Co., AL, but raised in Madison Co., MO. He and bro William were SCS veterans, serving under Price. His wife died in California abt. 1 year ago. Funeral in St. Louis. pg. 212 27 Aug 1908 - Mrs. J.A. Bellissime died at home in Collinsville, IL last Tuesday at age 74. Sister of D.T. LACKEY - used to live here. It's interesting that this family lived in Jackson Co., Alabama, then David born in Illinois and family settled in Missouri. There's evidence of that Tennessee River pathway again. So many took that route on flatboats. Glad to try find other census records if you need them. Pamela G. Smith Gresham, OR
